Yacht Delivery

As co-captains, we crew together as a team. We provide professional service moving sailboats for owners for:

  • Survey

  • Repositioning

  • Delivery after purchase

Our primary concerns during a delivery are the safety of your boat and of our crew. We will treat each boat with the utmost respect and give her the highest level of care. After safety concerns, we will always act in the best interest of the owner. You can rest assured that your boat is in the hands of conscientious Captains with attention to detail. Our Experience

All deliveries are different. There are a great number of factors to be considered for each delivery. We will consider all the variables, plan the route, and handle all the requirements of provisioning and planning.

OUR QUOTE

After learning more about the type of boat and where it will be moved from/to, we will provide a detailed quote.

Quotes are based on the following:

  • Distance and Route

  • Number of crew required

  • Estimated boat speed for conditions

  • Days required to complete the delivery

  • Transportation expenses for Captains and crew

  • Provisioning/meal expenses

Our quotes will reflect a daily flat rate with a specific breakdown of our calculation estimates. Typically, sailing vessels will be run 24 hours per day when possible.

We will strive to calculate our delivery quote as accurately as possible based on the information about the vessel. This being said, we rely on owners to give as accurate information as possible so we can provide an accurate quote. We use our experience and this information to estimate the duration of the delivery. This estimate assumes the vessel is in acceptable condition to complete the delivery, provided the weather is not extreme and there are no mechanical or rigging disruptions. Deliveries are especially difficult to complete during winter months in northern climates and summer months in southern climates due to hurricane & storm activity in their respective seasons.

NOTE: We will not deliver vessels older than 15 years without a survey completed by a qualified NAMS or SAMS marine surveyor. Mechanical failures during transit, fouled bottoms and or props, etc. may cancel or postpone a delivery.

Our delivery quote is an estimate. If the delivery goes longer, the client will be responsible for additional days incurred - If we are ahead of schedule, we will credit those costs and reduce the final delivery fee.

PRICING

Factors that affect pricing include:

  • Our Fee as Co-Captains: $600.00 / Day

  • Additional Crew Fee (if needed): $125.00 / Day

  • Transportation: Airfare and Car Rental/Taxi for all crewmembers to/from home will be estimated as required to support the delivery.

  • Provisions/Meals Ashore: This amount varies depending on the length of the trip and number of crewmembers needed. We generally estimate the cost at $150 pp / week.

  • Communications Equipment: $100 for use of Iridium-go (offshore weather/communication) and Garmin InReach (tracking/communication).

  • *Supplies to support the delivery: Jerry cans, spare parts, minor repair items, etc.

  • *Dockage: Client is responsible for dock fees.

  • *Fuel: Client is responsible for all fuel costs, however, this is not factored into the quote as the amount needed will vary.

  • *Life Raft Rental (if needed).

*items not included in quote as costs will vary per delivery

NOTE: We require that every boat have all of the USCG required safety equipment prior to sailing. Upon our arrival at the boat, if the vessel is not in acceptable condition for departure, we will determine if corrections can be made or if the vessel is unseaworthy.  If the latter is the case, we will travel back to home base and deduct our expenses from the deposit and refund the remainder (if any).

We understand some owners would like to participate in the delivery. If you are mentally and physically capable of participating, we are happy to have you along for the adventure. If this will include training/boat orientation, we can provide an offshore training package starting at $100 pp/day ($700 pp/week).

Deliveries are not "cruises!"  We don't take a leisurely sail on your dime... we WORK on your behalf! Even if you can't join us, we will provide regular updates of your vessel's location using Garmin inReach technology. You will have the peace of mind knowing where your vessel is at all times.
