Try A Catamaran
Experience the cruising lifestyle with us! We are currently in the Virgin Islands - soon to be sailing north to the Bahamas eventually working our way back to Florida before next hurricane season. We are flexible in our cruising plans so contact us to make a plan that works for both of us!
Sail with us, Captains Jim and Bonnie, aboard the chartered catamaran of your choice. We welcome you to participate as much as possible in the planning, provisioning, and sailing to give you the full experience of cruising/living aboard a modern-day catamaran.
In partnership with Jean Levine and Jeff Grossman of Two Can Sail, we offer one week charters for couples wishing to Try a Catamaran prior to purchase. With two Try A Catamaran couples aboard for each cruise, you will learn to handle the boat as a team working together to maneuver, sail, dock, and anchor gaining confidence by actually running the boat.
We will show you how to interpret the local weather report data in order to decide where we will be sailing. By using weather information along with our local charts, we can choose our itinerary for the best sailing and anchoring.
On these sailing trips you will spend your nights on the boat at anchor or on a mooring. We will plan the itinerary around the weather. You will spend the days sailing, swimming, snorkeling, or exploring one of the many islands. Dinners can be eaten onboard or at one of the many waterfront restaurants.
Although you will learn a great deal, this is not a formal class. There are no tests and no yelling. This is a time for you to enjoy a different type of learning/sailing vacation - in the beautiful Caribbean and beyond!
